Cut offs are the minimum marks required to be scored by each candidate in prelims, Mains or interview round. The preliminary exam is qualifying in nature although candidates have to secure the cut off to be eligible for the Mains round. The following factors determine IBPS SO cut off marks: 

  • Number of appeared candidates
  • The difficulty level of the exam
  • Total marks
  • Number of vacancies
  • Normalisation

IBPS SO cut off marks are the minimum marks that a candidate must get to proceed to the next stage of the recruitment process. IBPS SO cut off marks are announced after the exam is conducted for each stage. IBPS SO cut off is derived based on the two different aspects-sectional and overall. IBPS SO cutoffs are issued for each post category separately.

IBPS SO exam is conducted in multiple shifts and the difficulty levels of the question papers are different. To adjust the difficulty level of the question papers, normalisation of marks is done. The normalisation of marks using equi-percentile method.

The following items are not permitted inside IBPS SO exam centre:

  • Any stationery item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner etc.
  • Any communication device like Mobile Phone. Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager,  Health Band etc.-
  • Other items like Goggles, Handbags, Hair-pin, Hair-band, Belt, Cap, etc.
  • All ornament like Ring, Earrings, Nose-pin, Chain/Necklace, Pendants, Badge, brooch etc. will be thoroughly checked.
  • Any watch/Wrist Watch, Camera, devices with screen freeze or storage

The following items are permitted inside IBPS SO exam centre:

  • Personal transparent water bottle
  • Personal hand sanitizer (50 ml)
  • A simple pen and blue ink stamp pad
  • Exam related documents (Call Letter/Admit Card, ID card in Original, Photocopy of ID Card,  one additional photograph etc.)
  • Call Letter should be brought with the Photocopy of the Photo ID stapled with it. Original ID  (same as Photocopy) is also to be brought for verification. The name on the ID and on the Call Letter should be exactly the same

  • Aadhaar Card/E-Aadhaar card with a photograph  
  • PAN Card
  • Permanent Driving License
