Hi,
It all depends on the kind of career goals you have and where do you finally want to land up. The major difference between these two are: In the Bank PO exam, you will get into the banking sector and in SSC, you will get into central government services.
Further, both exams have different selection procedure and parameter for recruiting into various services. In SSC-CGL, the focus is mainly on English and aptitude in the mains stage while prelims the needle points towards GK, reasoning, aptitude & English. Eligibility criteria for appearing in PO or Clerical Services conducted by IBPS is graduation degree. in any discipline. Similarly in majority of prestigious BSchools eligibility criteria for admission in graduation degree in any discipline. Therefore, you are advised to do graduation degree of your choice to appear for IBPS exams and 2 years MBA degree course. However, you are eligible to apply for Integrated MBA offered by IIM Indore and some other Universities.

Dear,
It totally depends on your own interst. Some of the top MNC companies will provide high payscale for graduates of MBA finance sector than that of IBPS employees. So, consider to take CAT coaching. If you want to work in a bank then totally focus on IBPS coaching and grab a job. RACE and T.I.M.E are some of the best coaching centres.

Hello Preetha,
State bank has its own assessment exams for the various posts like clerk, PO and specialist officer. The notification will be released on their official website and the rest is to be followed according to the instructions specified in the notification.

Private banks now a days demand MBA with good marks.
Also, it includes good personality.
But for government banks procedure is little different. Clearing entrance examination is must for getting government jobs. Entrance exam which consists of question related to:
Quantitative aptitude
English
Reasoning
General awareness
Computers
It is difficult to clear exam without preparation.
But after preparation, you can clear the exam.
For apply in these examination, you have to be:
Graduate from recognised university around 50% marks.
age-between 21 to 28.
govt time to time publish their vacancy in employment newspaper (comes weekly)and other newspapers

You can choose IBPS exam "PGDBF (banking finance) offered by Canara bank, UBI, Syndicate bank, Bank of Baroda in collaboration with Manipal University. After the test, if you are selected by the interviewer, you will be sent to Manipal by your bank for PGDBF. It is a lucrative opportunity for you or a choose Tier I MAT colleges through higher (95) MAT or higher CAT score as these can provide you with a sustainable job with secured profile comparatively.

Yes, you should have any professional degree for your further action. Even after graduation, if you can pursue MBA programme from top B school then also you have good chance to get growth and salary too.
You can opt for BBA in finance specialisation.

IBPS bank PO is based on mental and logical reasoning test. The syllabus of IBPS PO exam consists of logical reasoning, general awareness, language ability test, quantitative analysis and data interpretation. There are no questions related to any specific subject.
