IIM Ahmedabad does not have a CAT percentile cutoff score. They have started a system of composite score where all the inputs like 10th marks, 12th marks, UG percentage, etc are used. Then an overall score cutoff is calculated. This method has certain advantages like, if you have not done really well in 10th or 12th, you can compensate that by doing really good in CAT. Here are two links that will give you detailed information about cutoffs and selection criteria. http://www.iimahd.ernet.in/programmes/admission-details/admission-procedure-for-pgp-2016-18-batch.html http://www.iimahd.ernet.in/users/admission/files/Shortlisting Criteria

There is no single answer to this. It depends on the abilities and capabilities of different individuals. However on an average one year regular preparation is more than sufficient. You need to constantly evaluate yourself and make corrections. Make sure to practice enough so that you have the required speed, accuracy and confidence on the examination date.

First of all you need to decide which college you want to target and depending on that you need to prepare for the same. For example if you want to target IIMs then you need to prepare for CAT. You can look up the syllabus on the CAT website. There is nothing new in syllabus, you have already studied everything. You just need to practice and take tests.

I don't think you will get any decent college at 48 percentile. I suggest that you appear for CAT again and try to do better.
