There are total 20 IIMs in India and the cut-off of those IIMs are base on CAT. You need to score more than 99 percentile for top three IIMs and for other new IIMs, you just need to score more than 95 percentile.

Eligibilty criteria for seeking admission in FPM at IIMs is as follows:
Candidates are eligible to apply for the FPM program if they fulfill either of the two following criteria:
(a) Master's degree in any discipline with 55% marks (or grade point equivalent) throughout academic career. (or)
(b) Bachelor's degree of at least four year duration (such as B.E./B.Tech./B. Arch.) from a recognized University/Institute with 55% marks (or grade point equivalent)
If you meet above mentioned criteria, you are eligible to seek admission in FPM at IIMs.

Second option is better as you will get some experience too. IIM, Shillong does not have 100 percent placement.

Work experience is not mandatory to seek admission in IIMs. Work experience helps in better learning and better job placement after MBA/ PGDM from IIM or any other B-School.

Hi Janagam,
You should score 95+ percentile in CAT to get into IIMs. Further, IIMs short-list candidates based on Personal Interviews (PI) and Group Discussion (GD). Apart from these, graduation percentage is also a factor for admission into IIMs.
