Hi Spandan,
Somaiya would be better due to its brand name and location. The average package offered is around Rs 9L, and is one of the top B-schools in/around Mumbai. The new IIMs are not great in terms of placements and ROI; it will take some years for them to be established. Still if brand name matters to you than placements/ROI, then you can go for them(specially Amritsar & Nagpur). Good luck!

Dear student,
In terms of ROI, it's FMS, DU which is simply the best than any other college in the country. Not only the ROI, even if we compare placements with IIMs, it's far better. So go for it.
All the best.

Dear Sunil Mog,
Any student with graduation can get admission in IIMs. Secondly, to get admission, one need to get a good score in CAT i.e. common admission test. You should score 95% percentile and above for IIMs.
All the best.

Admission to IIMs is via a common entrance examination called CAT. After clearing the entrance examination, based on your score, past academics and relevant work experience IIMs shortlist students for written ability test & PI where they will gauge your interest for pursuing MBA. After clearing the same, one gets admission to any of the IIMs.

There is no college bias in IIM selection. Selection is purely based on meritocracy. If you crack CAT and do well in GDPI you stand fair chances to get selected in IIMs.

It depends upon the IIM you are targeting, every IIM has different criteria to select students and give different weightage to the graduation marks. Having said that, if there is a genuine reason why you were not able to complete your degree in time, it can be taken into consideration because there are high chances that even if you are able to crack CAT and sit for an IIM interview this question can be asked. Prepare your answer well. Don't lose hope and start preparing for CAT, the sky has limits. All the very best!!

Work experience is not a necessary requirement to get admission into IIM A. Considerable percentage of people of current batch are freshers.

Hi Pinka,
To get admission in any IIM, you need to register and prepare well for an entrance exam called Common Aptitude Test (CAT).
You can check the below mentioned link:
https://www.shiksha.com/mba/exams/cat
All the IIMs have a sectional and overall cutoff, clearing which will increase your chances of getting shortlisted for the interview rounds (Consisting of a written aptitude test and personal interview) conducted by them. Along with your CAT score, your overall profile and work-experience, past academic scores, gender, graduation stream and extra-curricular activities will be evaluated. If it meets their criteria, then you will be c
