IIEBM was established in the year 2000 by Col. Vinod Marwaha & Shrimant Vijay Sinha Naik Nimbalkar (popularly known as Shivajiraje). It is a private college and has a legacy of 25 years in the education field. IIEBM's Educational roots trace back to the Parent Educational Trust, founded by Shivajiraje, which has been active in the Education Sector since the year 1951. The foundation was laid even earlier, in the year 1893, when His Highness Shrimant Mudhojirao Naik Nimbalkar, Ruler of Phaltan State, established the first school in the region.
IIEBM IBS ranked 10 among the Best B School in Maharashtra by the IIRF Ranking 2024. The college has also collaborated with renowned national and international institutions and organisations such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, CISI, the London School of Digital Business, etc. IIEBM Indus Business School courses are offered to students at the PG level. The college offers PGDM course in several specialisations such as Marketing, Finance, HRM, Supply Chain and Business Analytics.

Admissions at Indus Business School (IIEBM) are both entrance-based and merit-based. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline as recognized by AICTE/UGC, under 10+2+3 / 10+2+4 system with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates appearing in the Final Year may also apply, provided they complete all formalities of examinations before July and furnish proof of having met the minimum eligibility criteria before November of the current Academic Year. The admission process involves a combination of factors including past academic performance, performance in the Individual Assessment Process (Group Discussion, Personal Interview, and Written Assessment) along with other qualitative parameters like relevant work experience, extra-curricular activities, and state or national level participation & achievement in sports.
