It depends on the university you choose some may consider only Diploma GPA and some university also includes past GPA to obtain total result after completing Diploma (This is only applicable for those who has joined directly in 2nd year).

PGDM courses are industry oriented unlike MBA, which are more theoretical in nature. PGDMs focus more on grooming programs, mentorship & industry exposure.

Also the placement services are more rigorous with PGDM programs. Hence, PGDM course from a recognised institute is usually good to pursue good salary options.

MBA admission process in top MBA colleges opens every year in the month of July/August and closes after 2-3 months from the opening date. While IIFT, IIMs, XLRI, NMIMS, SIBM among others open their admission process in July-August, other top MBA colleges like FMS, MDI, SPJIMR, IMI, IMT begin their admission process in September

For normal shortlisting process, the average marks of class X and class XII must be at least 80%. So, if a candidate has an average less than that of 80%, he will not receive a call for the interview irrespective of the CAT score (Unless he happens to be one of the top 50 scorers in his stream). .

It is better to pursue a regular MBA degree rather than a distance degree. Because MBA is one of those degrees which require a lot of regular networking and working. You would not get all of those from a distance degree.

The simple answer is 'no'. If you wish to pursue M. B.A. in I. MS then you have to clear the CAT exam. GATE exam is for those who wants to do M.Tech.

I think the fee of the programme is same for all students irrespective of their category. But there are ample government scholarships for SC/ST students pursuing PGDM from Iims.
