The General category admissions cutoff requirements at IIT Dhanbad show yearly variations during the last few academic years. The BTech Computer Science and Engineering program's final cutoff admission rank reached 3846 in 2024 but had been at 3009 in 2022 and 3258 in 2023. Yes, it hard to get admission at IIT Dhanbad. The institute offers admission based on entrance exams. The entrance exams accepted include CAT, JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, and IIT JAM. It is mandatory for students to qualify the eligibility criteria. The institute releases the cutoff list for each course to get admission.

IIT Dhanbad has well-equipped infrastrcture which includes all the necessary amenities. The hostel has spacious room with confortable living for the students. It is located at the very centre of the campus, with the lecture hall, canteen and auditorium. The institute offer recreational activities for the students. Students feel happy living in these hostels as the college provides all the necessary facilities to students.
