54 marks are not enough to get you any college. So, it is advisable for you to keep trying in private universities for direct admission on the basis of 12th score.

A general rule of thumb always applied. More marks one gets, better college could be expected. Even for OBC reference you have scored a bit less. Pl follow link to predict your college:

As per your marks in NITs are beyond the horizon, however, if you work hard and put your best efforts in JEE Advanced then you may end up with any IIT.

You can opt for govt. colleges, either IP or DU but engineering from DU is quiet tough. There are only few seats and if you are from general category, its going to be tough for you.

Your OBC rank is 2210 so your general rank is also in the range of 20k so you must try in JOSAA counseling to get selected in NITs as your rank is low.
