Can I get admission in NIT - Hamirpur? I have scored 166 marks in JEE mains and 91.2% in class 12th. I belong to general category.

Yes you will be able to get admission into this college (Maybe not in the CSE stream). Your rank should be around 20,000. You can get into the college, but if you want to pursue CSE, I suggest you try for the Integrated M.Tech. CSE branch here at NIT Hamirpur. Or, alternatively you can try for CSE at IIIT Una college, whose classes are being held at NIT Hamirpur only.

surely you will. if you are looking for private universities and colleges like LPU and others then you must contact them immediately. and if you looking for govt. colleges then you will surely get it. your chancea in NIT's are less but you must fill them in counseling may be you get one. Your prospects aren't too high if you are a candidate domiciled outside Orissa. If you are a Home State candidate, you stand fair chances in departments like Biotechnology Engineering(BT), Biomedical engineering(BM), Ceramic Engineering(CE) and in Integrated M. Sc courses for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Life Science. The BM, BT and Life Science departments in NIT Rourkela have state of the art laboratories and extremely qualified faculty.
