Yes, you can get very lower branch if you belong from general, otherwise there are better chances.

There is no restriction in any NITs regarding the number of attempts for B.Tech admissions. Admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs for the candidates from India at NITs, IIITs, Other centrally funded Technical Institutions shall be based on the ranks in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main).
