The admission process and criteria for colleges in Tamil Nadu may vary depending on the specific college and course you are interested in. Factors such as the availability of seats, reservation policies, and previous year's cutoffs can also influence the admission chances. Based on the information you provided, it appears that you have secured a percentile score and rank. However, the information about the specific colleges and their cutoffs for ST category candidates in Tamil Nadu is not available to me as it requires access to the latest data. To determine your admission possibilities, I recommend the following steps:

The admission criteria for each course may vary. For example, for B.Tech courses, 25% of the JEE Mains Percentile and 75% of Board Exam Marks will be considered for selection. The cut-off for CSE in NITs and IIITs varies every year and depends on various factors such as the number of seats available, the number of applicants, etc. It is difficult to get into NITs for CSE branch with a rank of 40k in JEE Mains. However, you can try for some IIITs. You can also use the JEE Main college predictor on the basis of rank obtained in the exam to get an idea of which colleges you can get admission in 2023. I hope this helps!

You need to have a minimum mark of 978/1000 to get in. But to get a desired branch you need to have more than 980 and 80% in JEE Mains, then you have good chances to get into SASTRA University.
