Hi.
JEE Main Score Route
If you have a JEE Main 2026 score, you can apply directly using that.
Your All India Rank (AIR) is used for:
Branch allocation (high-demand branches like CSE, AI/ML, IT, etc.)
Merit-based scholarships
No CU-specific entrance exam is required in this case.
CUCET / Direct Admission Route
If you don't appear in JEE, CU conducts its own Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) or considers 12th marks for merit-based admission.
This route is optional for JEE-qualified students.
Advantages of using JEE Main at CU
Branch preference: Higher JEE rank increases your chances of getting top branches.
Scholarships: Merit-base

Hi.
There is no fixed “minimum JEE Main percentile/rank” that guarantees admission to Chandigarh University (CU)'s B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science Engineering (CSE), because admission depends on seat demand, number of applicants, branch popularity, and round of counselling. But we can estimate a rough “safe-ish range” based on recent years' closing ranks at CU.
What data says about recent cutoffs for CSE at CU
For 2024 admissions, the closing JEE‑Main rank (General, All‑India quota) for CSE at CU was ~ 80,940.
For 2023 it was ~ 63,416 and for 2022 ~ 47,509.
Cutoffs shift each year — depending on how many apply, how

Hi.
Yes — at Chandigarh University (CU), it is possible to get a scholarship for B.Tech/B.E. (including CSE with specialisations like AI & ML / “IBM‑program” etc.) based on your JEE Main performance — but only under certain conditions and only for a small fraction of seats.
How CU's JEE‑based scholarship works (for engineering)
CU runs a “JEE‑Mains Performance Based Scholarship” scheme — for engineering courses including B.Tech/B.E.
Scholarship tiers (fee waiver on semester tuition) depend on your All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Main.
Typical slabs (for 2026‑27 as per the official scholarship page) are so

Hi.
1. Admission is primarily through CUCET
Chandigarh University (CU) uses CUCET, its own entrance test, as the primary criterion for seat allotment in all B.Tech/B.E programs — including specialised CSE branches.
Whether you want CSE – Cyber Security, CSE – Cloud Computing, or CSE – Data Science, your CUCET score decides:
Eligibility
Seat allotment
Round-wise merit ranking
2. JEE Main score helps for scholarships, not admission
CU offers merit-based scholarships for JEE Main qualifiers:
Scholarship percentage depends on JEE Main percentile/AIR.
Even for specialised CSE branches:
High JEE Main percentile → higher scholarship

Hi.
For 2024, the “closing cutoff rank” for CSE (General category, all‑India) was ~ 80,940.
For 2023 it was ~ 63,416, and for 2022 about 47,509 — showing demand has been rising year‑on‑year.
For branches like ECE (or general electronics‑type branches), the 2024 closing rank was ~112,216.
For other branches (Mechanical, Civil) cutoffs are significantly lower — which indirectly shows how competitive CSE / high‑demand branches are.
What that roughly translates to in JEE Main Percentile
Because CU reports ranks — not percentiles — conversion to percentile depends heavily on how many students appear in th
