Karnavati University offers admission solely on the basis of the merit acquired in the qualifying exam, and the scores obtained in the entrance exams. The university has specified a minimum aggregate ranging between 45% - 75% in the last qualifying exam. The minimum aggregate differs for all UG, PG, PhD, certificate, and Diploma courses. The university requires entrance exam including GUJCET, JEE Main, KUAT, CUET, SET, UGC NET, CLAT, CAT, CMAT, UID Design Aptitutde Test, etc. to offer admission to the courses. In order to secure admission to Karnavati University, candidates must fulfil the course-specific eligibility criteria laid by the university.

Karnavati University is a constituent of the Karnavati Medical and Educational Trust.  Karnavati University Gandhinagar is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC). In addition to this, the university is also approved by the AICTE and BCI.

For BBA admission, Karnavati University accepts the exam scores of CUET UG and UGAT. It also conducts the Karnavati University Admission Test (KUAT) to shortlist applicants for BBA (Hons) admissions. The exam dates vary from year to year.

The 2024 BDS batch comprised 99 students. Out of these 91 were placed during the 2024 placements. Furthermore, all the 18 MDS students were placed. Comparing to 2023, the 2024 placement rate was higher in BDS and MDS.
