KMAT eligibility criteria is based on UGC guidelines:
Candidates need to have Bachelors degree / Masters degree from any recognised education body in Commerce, Management, Arts, Social Sciences, Engineering / Technology or equivalent
Atleast 50% aggregate marks; 40% for SC/ST candidate
Candidates will then be shortlisted on the basis on their performance in KMAT. The scorecards of the candidates will be sent to the colleges
The selected candidates who have qualified in KMAT need to report to their respective college to secure admissions.

Important topics for the exam are listed below:
- Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
- Quantitative Ability
- Logical Reasoning
Each of these sections will have 40 questions and total of 120 questions. So it is important to focus on each of the subtopics under these broad sections.
Important areas to study:
-Grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms, comprehension of passages

The KMAT(Karnataka Management Aptitude Test) question pattern is generally Paper-Pen-based test with 120 Multiple Choice Questions divided into three sections (40 each).
The exam will have MCQs only. Section wise syllabus for KMAT 2017 is as follows:
1) Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension:
