There exist plenty of higher degree options for those who have completed their Masters degree in Commerce. Those who are interested to build up a strong career preferably in academic field can go with M. Phil or PhD in the area. MBA in Finance is another good option for these candidates. Anyway, the selection of the course should be on the basis of the skill and interest of the aspirant. The main higher education programs after M.Com are mentioned here

Both degrees are good in their ways, but I would suggest MBA in Finance:

Hi,
Yes, part-time jobs alongside studies can be done. Jobs may include office assistant jobs, on-campus university jobs as administration assistant/office helper, hospitality jobs, researchers, day care, baby sitting, customer service executive jobs etc. The most type of job, however, is table keeping at food joints.

Hi Aklas,
If your interest is more in core commerce education especially accounts then for you M.Com can be a good option, but ideally MBA provides a wide scope of career opportunities.
Where M.Com will only give you limited options, MBA has more horizons to look upon.
My brother did MBA in Port and Shipping Management from UPES Dehradun and is now working with an international Germany based shipping company. It's all upto how well you pursue it.
My personal opinion would be go for MBA rather than M.Com it benefits more in future.
