You can shortlist a few universities as per your profile, which includes academic grades, test scores, research work and extra curricula and check the university requirements. It is pretty much like a job search.
Meeting admission requirement is crucial and to be taken seriously. To pursue MS in USA, you must take GRE and any reputed university will require a brilliant profile. I will suggest you to start off by visiting university websites and go through the department page for detailed information.

If you have a core degree like M.Sc and MCA and then you will do some certification through distance, it will be beneficial but if you are going to do a core course or degree in IT field through distance, this will be not be beneficial for you as IT is a technical field and also contain practicals as well. Most of the IT firms does not consider distance degree while they hire.
if you have a Bachelors degree in IT then I will suggest you to do some certification depend on your interest like adv. java, php, .Net, web designing, software testing etc and once you get a job you can plan of pursuing M.Sc form distance.

Rather then feeling helpless, just do a little exercise by writing about your strengths and skills. If you interested in research or education more, M.Sc is the best option. If you are more of a people's person, have good communication and negotiation skills, go for MBA as it's all about management. Furthermore, you may go through the course structure of each course and see what you can relate better as you have to study it for next two years.
In case, you are still confused, talk to a career counselor.
Hope this helps.
