According to me, the basic difference is discipline. If you will study in Medicaps you will be facing a very tight discipline everywhere. Like you will not able to go anywhere for any reason, you will not able to spend your time in the library. But in Vaishnav there are comparatively low level of Discipline. Vaishnav has a good environment for Bookworms as well as scientist-type people.
but if u want to participate in Baja SAE event then you have to go to Medicaps because Vaishnav College's management refused to support the students
and if you want to crack IES, IAS, GATE and PSU, you come to Vaishnav because you will get time for self-s

yes it is a very good college for engineering I really like Avantika University as it will bring the change in Indian education system because of its amazing curriculum. I love to work for Avantika because its something unique. Placements of MITS are good but then look at the placements of some good private universities like LPU, VIT, SRM, too. Check out there too. They have their different criteria for admissions.
