The cut off goes higher every year. So look for the cut off of the last year for your category as it will help you set up your target. You should not aim for reaching the cutoffs, aim for rank also.

Instead of going for coaching classes, you can prepare for JAM Exam by your own. You should solve as many previous years IIT JAM Question Papers as possible. This will give you an idea about the pattern and difficulty level of the questions. Also take online mock tests to analyze your preparation level. This will also increase your speed and accuracy while solving questions. Focus mainly on the most important topics from now. Learn all the important formulas. Practice as many questions as possible.
