a 1 , a 2 , a 3 . . . . . . are in A.P. (Let common difference is d1)

b 1 , b 2 , b 3 . . . .  are in A.P. (Let common difference is d2)

and a12, a10 = 3, a1b1 = 1 = a10b10

? a 1 b 1 = 1

b 1 = 1 2

a 1 0 b 1 0 = 1

b 1 0 = 1 3

Now,

a 1 0 = a 1 + 9 d 1 d 1 = 1 9

b 1 0 = b 1 + 9 d 2 d 2 = 1 9 [ 1 3 1 2 ] = 1 5 4

Now

a 4 = 2 + 3 9 = 7 3

b 4 = 1 2 3 5 4 = 4 9

a 4 b 4 = 2 8 2 7

S = 2 + 6 7 + 1 2 7 2 + 2 0 7 3 + 3 0 7 4 + . . . . . . . . ( i )

1 7 S = 2 7 + 6 7 2 + 1 2 7 3 + 2 0 7 4 + . . . . . . . . ( i i )

(i) - (ii)

6 7 S = 2 + 4 7 = 6 7 2 + 8 7 3 + . . . . . . . . . . . ( i i i )

6 7 2 S = 2 7 + 4 7 2 + 6 7 3 + . . . . . . . . ( i v )

(iii) – (iv)

= 2 + [ 1 1 1 7 ] = 2 ( 7 6 )

4 S = 8 ( 7 6 ) 3 = ( 7 3 ) 3

C 1 : | z ( 4 + 3 i ) | = 2 a n d C 2 : | x | + | z 4 | = 6 , Z C

C1 : circle centre (4, 3) radius 2

C2 : Ellipse foci (0, 0) & (4, 0)

length of major axis = 6,

length of semi-major axis 2 5

Now, (4, 2) lies inside the both C1 and C2 and (4, 3) lie outside C2

Number of point of intersection = 2
