MBA may be general management or specialised. It is simply study of how we can manage business. To choose MBA course you may take into consideration your educational qualification, calibre and interest. You leave that are course for which you are not eligible by qualification. For e. g, if you are a law graduate must suitable MBA would be MBA in HR. For arts background, marketing, HR, sales, international business etc. Would be more suitable. Before choose MBA type you can take into consideration graduation subjects.

Few b school with excellent brand value and low fees are FMS, TISS, PUMBA, Punjab University, Jamia Milia Islamia, Jbims, DMS Lucknow University, DMS nirf ranked universities. It depends a lot on your CAT / CMAT score. As your academic record is decent. The b school listed above are one of the most affordable and branded b schools in India. Best wishes.

Beleive me, you have not taken a wrong stream. Marketing is one of the top 5 demanding MBA specializations. It might be that you need sometime to adjust with your stream. Even after that you feel not connected with the stream. Then you can do PGDM/ MBA in distance mood in other stream. Directorate of various good universities offer management courses in various stream. I suggest you to upskill in marketing.

The basic eligibility criteria of MBA for all management institutes is a Bachelor degree with minimum 50% of marks. The admission criteria of Iims for MBA courses is varying and 25% (Appx. ). Of weightage is given to academic performance. Further about 5% of weightage is given to the 12th marks. So Academic performance is also playing an important role in selection. Further CAT percentile, What, PI and work experience are the other important components involves in selection.
