It varies from college to college, but common Eligibility for MBA programme: The prospective applicant must satisfy one of the following eligibility criteria for admissions to the MBA programme. A graduate degree under 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern under any discipline, securing at least 50% marks in aggregate, from a recognized university. It may also require to give entrance exams like CAT MAT XMAT, etc.

You can do CFA along with your MBA. Clear the first level of CFA, while you are in first year of MBA. All the best.

No, do not think of working under CA or someone else at this stage. You can do MBA in Finance. I recommend you to try clearing first level of CFA if you are extremely interested in finance. As you are a mechanical engineer, clearing first level of CFA before starting MBA will help you a lot in MBA and for placements. Besides, if you are still exploring finance and not sure then do small courses provided by NSE and BSE Institute. All the best.

I think CFA is better course than MBA, as in MBA if you are getting admission in top 10 colleges, then it's okay. But, otherwise CFA is better. If you are an average student, so you should go for CFA, as it will give a good salary than MBA. For MBA, college is more important, but for CFA, there is no such college and all.
