Yes you can get direct admission in 2nd year Of B.Tech course. Diploma holders are directly admitted to second year of B.Tech as lateral entry students.

Mechatronics is more concenrecred with mechanical aspects of various streams of engineering like robotics, electronics, product engineering, etc.It can be considered as a stream of mechanical engineering which is more concerned with application aspects .
