The NEET cutoff for Thai Moogambigai Dental College and Hospital for the year 2023 for the BDS course was about 1207166 for the general category. The rank specifies the minimum marks required for the candidate to be considered for admission. The college is part of the Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute. It is one of the premier institutes for dental education and training. The chance to get a seat in the course improves with possibilities to get above that cutoff. Their official website should be watched closely for updates regarding future cutoffs and intake processes.

While NEET is the standard requirement for BUMS admission at MUHS, exploring alternative pathways or other institutions may provide viable options. Direct admission without NEET is uncommon and may not be available at MUHS.

  • Contact MUHS: Inquire directly with the MUHS admission office for any exceptions or alternative processes.
  • Explore Other Colleges: Some institutions may offer direct admission or alternative pathways.
  • Retake NEET: Consider preparing for the next NEET exam if you wish to pursue BUMS at MUHS.

No, a score of 157 marks on the NEET exam is unlikely to be enough to get an MBBS seat:

With a NEET score of 393, admission to BDS or MBBS programs may be challenging, especially in government colleges.

BDS Admission

  • Government Colleges: Typically require at least 450 marks.
  • Private Colleges: A score in the 50th percentile (unreserved category) may be sufficient.

MBBS Admission

  • A score of 393 is on the lower side, but some private medical colleges or institutions with higher fee structures might accept candidates with this score.

It is advisable to participate in NEET counseling and explore options in private colleges or deemed universities. Additionally, you can consider management quota seats if financially feasible.

The admission procedure of MBBS in SDUAHER is as follows.

First, the candidate should qualify in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) which is necessary for medical admissions in India.

Once the seat has been allotted, students will need to complete the admission procedure that includes the document verification and fee

Preparation based on the syllabus of NEET will prove helpful as a foundation especially in Biology and to some extent, Physics and Chemistry. Mathematics is included in IAT that is not part of NEET syllabus. Analytical thinking and problem solving ability will be tested through IAT, which is comparatively at a higher level than that in NEET. Therefore, while NEET preparation helps you with some subjects, you need to devote extra time for Mathematics and the different question formats of IAT.
