For last year, the closing rank for MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery was 215620 which is very close to this range. This was for the General category under the All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cutoffs keep changing year on year, it is advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of getting admission in Yenepoya (Deemed to be university).

There is no restriction on number of attempts for NExT Step 1 provided candidates have passed both NExT Step 1 and NexT Step 2 examinations within 10 years of joining MBBS course. Candidates have to qualify NExT Step 2 to reappear in NExT Step I for improvement of score. NexT Step 1 score will be valid for five years. AIIMS will release an information brochure, providing more clarity regarding number of attempts and other aspects related to NExT exam. 2019 MBBS students will be the first batch which will be appearing for NExT exam to be held most likely in 2024.
