No, you  don't need to appear for the MHT CET exam if you are an NRI/OCI/PIO/dependent of a person working in a Gulf country. These categories of applicants are exempt from taking the MHT CET for admission to engineering colleges in Maharashtra. There's a separate selection process for NRI/OCI/PIO/CIWG (Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf) candidates for BTech admissions in Maharashtra. This process typically involves:

    • Filling out a separate application form for NRI quota seats.
    • Appearing for counselling based on your class 12th (or equivalent) exam marks.

There are differences in the syllabus for MHT CET PCM (BE/BTech) and PCB (BPharma). For admission to BE/BTech programmes, the MHT CET PCM test is administered, whilst the PCB exam is administered for BPharma programmes. The MHT CET PCM syllabus includes maths, chemistry, and physics. The PCB syllabus covers chemistry, physics, and biology. It is important for candidates to know that the syllabus for Physics and Chemistry is the same for both PCB and PCM exams. The CET syllabus is available for download on the official website or the Shiksha portal for candidates.

Negative marks are not applied to MHT CET exam wrong answers. Physics and Chemistry questions in the MHT CET exam are worth one mark. Unanswered questions do not result in a mark deduction. All candidates will receive full marks for any question in which none of the answers are determined to be correct, the question is deemed to be incorrect, or it is discarded. This is true whether or not a candidate attempts to answer the question.
