To start your modeling career, you'll first need to think about the type of modeling you want to do i.e. print, commercial, runway, fitness and plus-size. Many agencies specialise in a particular type of modeling, so you need to figure out your niche and put together a portfolio that reflects your style. This should include headshots with varied expressions (serious, playful), and full-length shots in different outfits. To find local modeling agencies, use the Internet to google your town and modeling agency. It's a good idea to enlist the help of a parent or trusted adult at this point to help you contact the agencies. There are a lot of scams out there, so you want to be careful if an agency asks for money up front, chances are they are probably not legit. Find out how each agency handles submissions, often via mail-in or open call. Once you've submitted your portfolio, give the agency a month before you follow up with a phone call. In the meantime, you can also look for other modeling opportunities in your community. Check with the local fashion design schools, department stores or your favorite boutiques to see if they need models for upcoming fashion shows. Modeling is a career that takes a lot of persistence and since it probably won't pay your bills for a while at least, it is a good idea to have a backup plan. A lot of aspiring models work part-time while in high school and college or supplement their income with another job. If you want to get sold then try to create a good circle and it should be a bigger one. Both the fields required publicity and support. As a part of acting, you should be trying any kind of role in the initial stages but try only the roles which make good sense and message. Why I'm saying like this because my ultimate goal is to become an actor.
