The MTET Notification was released on the official website. The Meghalaya Government releases the MTET Notification in English. The MTET Notification PDF will contain crucial details of the exam including the application process, eligibility criteria, important dates, exam pattern, syllabus and others. Candidates who qualify for the MTET exam become eligible to apply for recruitment as Primary or Upper Primary level teachers in the schools of Meghalaya. Qualifying candidates will receive their MTET eligibility certificate after the declaration of the result.

Candidates should be a minimum of 18 of age in order to be eligible to apply for the MTET exam. There is no upper age limit for the MTET exam. The educational qualification to apply for the MTET exam has been given below for the candidates:
Primary-
- Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education
- Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd)
- Graduation with BEd (final year appearing or passed)

The MTET (Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test) exam is conducted once a year by the DERT. The exam is usually conducted in the month of May-June, and the notification for the exam is released a few months prior to the exam date. It is important to note that the MTET exam is conducted in two parts: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates who wish to become teachers for students in the age group of 6-11 years need to appear for Paper 1, while candidates who wish to become teachers for students in the age group of 11-14 years need to appear for Paper 2. The MTET exam is conducted in offline mode as a pen-and-paper based test. Candidates need to mark their answers on the OMR sheet. The candidates need to fill the sheet carefully as no extra OMR sheet will not be given in the exam. However, the MTET application process is complete online process. The candidates have to fill out he application form online on the official website. Other than this the application fee have to paid online.

Yes, the MTET exam is conducted on a single day but in two different shifts. The details of the MTET exam shifts has been given below for the candidates:
- Shift 1 is conducted from 10:00 am-12:30 pm for MTET Paper 1
- Shift 2 is conducted from 2:30-5:00 pm for MTET Paper 2
However, the shift timing can be changed by the board. Though, the candidates will be informed by the board before if any changes are made for the MTET exam.
