Hello Nishar Ahmed, National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology at Srinagar grants admission for informal courses is based on an entrance exam that the institute conducts twice in a year. Merit in this examination will determine the admission. For formal courses, for which the certificate and degree is awarded by the University to which this Institute is attached, there is no entrance exam and the admissions are given based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. There is no mention of any cut off for getting admission in informal courses in various sources that I could lay my hands on. It has campuses spread across India at 41 locations. It is basically involved in skill development activity meaning it provides many courses of small duration to students who then can either seek employment or they can work themselves as entrepreneurs. In addition to this these institutes also offer some courses at graduation and post graduation levels also. These courses are invariably affiliated to the local government university where these institutes are located. In such cases the University grants a degree or postgraduate certificate. Having spread across India and also being involved in providing computer and information technology related training to the students, all institutes together have an online placement cell.
