In NEET and AIIMS, the respective prescribed eligibility that is 50% and 60%, it is an aggregate percentile in class 12th or your higher secondary exam. Yes, you are eligible to appear for the NEET UG Exam, as you have scored more than 40%. Before appearing for the NTA NEET Exam you must also check the other eligibility criteria which are:
1. Your class 12th subject must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as a core subject in both Class 11th and class 12th from a recognized board.
2. You must have scored minimum 50% (your) or 45% (PWD) or 40% (Reserved) marks in your class 12th.
3. There is no limit on giving the attempts, but you should not be more than 25 years of age.

It is necessary to qualify NEET if you wish to pursue MBBS in any colleges in India. As to do practice in India and get the degree of MBBS in India is compulsory to qualify NEET exam. So, you should appear in the exam.
