Dear aspirant, Glad to meet you. Your score is not much good. According to your rank, it is unlikely for you to get computer Science in any NIT or IIIT even the lower ones. Generally the closing obc category rank for CSE in all institutions is around 10000-12000. Although you may get other branches such as Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, etc. In good private universities. Greetings Kavita, I'm assuming by 79% you mean 79 percentile. If you're from general category then simply you can't even make it to the cutoff. And even if you have reservations advantage then too even if you make it to the JoSAA counselling then too with your percentile you won't get mech. Engineering in any NIT.

If your SC rank is 28164 then you surely admission in any NIT. The popular NIT IS NIT Suratkal because it's closing rank is 3137 and it is considered as best college at India for Mechanical Engineering.

Congratulation on getting such a good rank in JEE Mains. Considering you are from general category you can get:
NIT PATNA
NIT SILCHAR
NIT AGARTALA
NIT DURGAPUR
NIT RAIPUR
NIT UTRAKHAND

If you can get 53.59 percentile CRL - 440509 SC category rank - 34179 then the better NIT I refer to you is NIT Arunachal Pradesh (230000) and NIT Manipur (150000) and the better iiit for these rank is iiit Guwahati.

Little difficult to get CSE in NIT which NRIF rank under 100 but possible which NRIF ranking is more than 100.

Dear aspirant, Firstly congratulations for your result dear. Your rank is probably between 34k to 28k. After getting 90 percentile in JEE Mains examination students can appear for NIT Colleges. Your score is good so if you want to give the another attempt of JEE Mains examination you will do it definitely. May be you will score more good than this. If you go for JEE Advanced you will be appearing for IIT. In this marks you can get NIT college but which college it will be difficult for us. I will suggest you some name below-

Dear aspirant, Glad to meet you. Considering previous cut off it is difficult to get seat in CSE in any NIT and even IIITs and GFTIs. Your rank must be below 20000 to get seat in a NIT in CSE. Do not loose hope, you may get seat in any other branch if you are interested. Even Its hard to get CSE in any of NIT on 95 percentile. For general category you will have to score 99 percentile if you want CSE in NIT but these are tentative reports and they can vary for this year.
99 percentile means the General Rank would be around 8690. The OBC rank with respect to the CRL rank is around 1500- 2000. It is a great performance indeed. You may get
