With this ranking, you will not be able to get an NIT as the marks seem lying around the cutoff. You should apply for state government colleges or autonomous institutes. Moreover, trying a seat in lower NITs such as Manipur and Silchar will not be worth it for distance education.

No, in Tamil Nadu, the best college is NIT Trichy and Anna University. For both it is difficult as for NIT, the minimum marks are 75% in HSC and around 4000 all India rank for B.Arch. I would suggest a private college in Bangalore or Hyderabad.

There are very few seats for general in both the colleges. Also, in NIT, minimum board percentage should be 75%, so you will not get NIT.
For Sir JJ, the admissions are through 50% board + 50% your competitive scores. Your board percentage seems less, so the chances are very thin.

Dear student, any candidate can get colleges like NIT or IIIT through JEE Mains also.
Advance plays a role in getting the admission in IITs, since through JEE Mains counselling, students can get NIT, IIIT only but not IIT.
Hope your query is resolved.
For any other query, please feel free to ask me.
Best of luck.

Hi,
Kindly google in the previous year opening and closing rank of NITs to get a rough idea of which colleges and which branches you can apply for. As for IIT they refer to the JEE Advanced marks not of JEE Mains.

Hey,
JEE Mains is based solely upon the rank you got in paper 1. 12 marks don't add up like they used to before.
You can Google the previous year opening and closing tank of NIT Calicut or any other NITs you wish to apply for. This will give you a rough idea of your chances of getting admission in the colleges.

Admissions are purely done on the JEE Mains rank so I'd suggest you to visit josaa.nic.in and check the previous year's cutoffs of your home state NITs as in most of the cases it is easier to get home state NIT because of home state quota.
