Regret to inform you that admission for this year in NIT, Warangal is over. But you can try for other NITs like MNIT, Jaipur.

I would like to inform you that for this year, the admission procedure is already over. You can apply for next year and make sure you perform well in GD and PI.
Also an important point for the next year's admission at NIT, Warangal is they will accept the score card which will be generated in September 2018 or after that.

You can predict your chances of admission at NIT, Warangal by viewing the previous year's opening and closing rank of each department as per the different counselling rounds. Please note that every year, the cut-off criteria changes so don't expect it to be same for this year. The details of previous year's cut-off are present at the official website of NIT-Warangal.

There are 50-50 chances, you may get or you may not get mechanical as last year, the closing rank was around 13k.
But you may get civil in NIT, Warangal, which is also a very good branch. But if you are only targeting mechanical, then it's better to have another option ready, because you are not sure of getting mechanical in NIT-W.
You also have a chance of sliding your branch in NIT-W, based on your first-year performance. My suggestion would be putting mechanical NIT-W as the first option and civil NIT-W as your second option.

To be frank, the placements for biotechnology in India, at present, are less. But if you opt for biotechnology, you have a very bright scope for conducting research.
Not only that, you may also get non-core jobs if you are okay with it.

I would suggest you to go for IIITs because after IITs and NITs, IIITs come.
