Hi Omer,
It's a personal choice though many experts believe going after B.Tech or Bachelor's degree gives maturity to the applicant and he/she can choose better programs and be career oriented while choosing the course. You can decide basis your interests, financial situation, stay back options, etc.

No, it is not necessary for you to write JEE Mains to get into UPES. You can get admission there on the basis of their internal test. They also consider the marks of board exam.
