For studying the BTech Petroleum Engineering course, you should have at least 50 to 60% marks in the PCM subjects in Class 12 board exams. Also, you must give relevant entrance tests for admission to the top colleges in India.

There are some BTech Petroleum Engineering colleges that also provide admission on a merit basis by taking into account your Class 12 marks. So, you should get excellent marks in the board exams if you wish to get in via merit, as the cutoffs are quite high.

Further, if you have a 3-year Diploma in Petroleum Engineering/Oil Engineering or a related field, you can directly get admission to the 2nd year of the B Tech

The general eligibility criteria for admission to the best Petroleum Engineering colleges in India are mentioned below:

BTech Degree:

  • Students must have completed their Class 12 in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from the national- or state-level education board with a minimum of 50 to 60 percent aggregate marks.
  • Students who hold a 3-year Diploma in Oil Engineering are also eligible for lateral entry admission into the second year of undergraduate courses in Petroleum Engineering.

MTech Degree:

  • Students who have completed a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field with at least 60 percent marks.

Hello,. There is nothing like eligibility marks for seeking admission in the best university of petroleum engineering in JEE Mains for JEE Advanced. JEE Mains examination is conducted for screening students for admissions into NIT and those institutions which are centrally funded, while JEE Advanced is conducted for admissions into IIT.
