Doctor of pharmacy or Pharma. D is a six-year course for doctorate level students. During the course duration candidates have five year of academic study and 1 year of internship. The eligibility criteria for the course Pharma. D is that students have to clear 10+2 from a recognised college and qualify for a Diploma in Pharmacy from Pharma. D college recognised by PCI (Pharmacy Council of India). The Pharma. D admissions are done on the basis of merit list or entrance examination. The popular entrance examinations are BV CET, MET GPAT etc. The average fee for the Pharma. D is INR 6,00,000 Lacs - INR 20,00,000. The different job profiles in which Pharma. D graduates are absorbed after the completion of the course are Pharmacists, drug experts, retail pharmacists, hospital pharmacy directors, hospital staff pharmacists, clinical pharmacists, etc. As a pharmacist, applicants will practise at both government and private hospitals. It gives a decent return on investment, as after completion of the programme, there are a lot of positions available
The average annual salary package for freshers is INR 3,00,000 - INR 10,00,000. It depends on the size of the company or organisation, location. The top recruiting companies are Home health care, community pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, geriatric pharmacy, managed care, governmental agencies, etc.

Actually, both are best depending upon student interest, a Diploma in pharmacy students can work as a pharmacist in clinics or government hospitals or even start their own pharmacy. If not interested can do further higher studies for placement in the pharmaceutical industry or working in R&D, this kind of job can pay high salaries. On other hand studying for B.Sc. can work in an executive role in life Science and biotech companies, want high salaries in the same field needs multiple degrees and skills that can only decide the job position and salary. In the current situation in India, a single degree can't pay a high salary until starting their own company with interesting ideas and strategies.
