You need to be 10+2 in Physics and Maths for CPL (Pilot) training. The training can be completed in a period of 8 months to 12 months and will cost around Rs. 27 lac for which banks offer loan against a collateral. To apply for CPL training you can download the IGIA application form from www.igiaindia.in and submit it with a demand draft of Rs.2500 and with all your supporting documents to your nearest IGIA branch. To get Student Pilot License (SPL), you must be over 17 years of age and have completed 12th in Science (Physics and Mathematics) with 50%.
* Your vision in one eye must be perfect. In general medical terminology, it is called 6/6 eyesight. In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6.
* General physical fitness is mandatory. You must be free of any disease that can hamper normal function.
* You need to register at a flying club which is recognized by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India.

The students who complete their pilot training from a foreign country get a foreign countries licence. When they return to India, they need to convert their foreign Pilot Licence to the India licence which is called conversion of commercial pilot licence. This conversion is done by
passing a couple of papers conducted by DGCA in India.

If you mean commercial pilot, then please remember being a commercial pilot is one of the most promising career as it offers good career prospects and excellent growth opportunities not only in India but across the globe.
Training in commercial flying can be taken with Flying clubs, the Rashtriya Udan Academy, Private Flying academies or with Flying schools abroad.
The training goes through 3 stages of licence.
The licences have to be procured in the following order :
- Student Pilot Licence (SPL)
- Private Pilot Licence (PPL)
- Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)
- After Class XI/XII (with PCM) students can apply for the SPL
