I know many seniors from the last final year batch of SLIET. Companies like VServ Mohali, Pompeii Nagpur recruited students from on campus placement drive.Placement is not so good in past year but there is one hope that the first JEE Mains batch(2014) will pass out next year so the placement may be good from the next year onwards.

Yes, mechanical is good in this college because there are two branches for mechanical one is manufacture engineering and other is welding engineering. There are many teams in this college like go kart and other ones they won national level awards. For placement this college is not so good. This college is situated in a very rural area. For mechanical engineering this college is good but for placement this college is not so good. The first JEE Mains batch of 2014 will pass out next year so may be placement will become good from the next year.

As per your college choices, it will be better for you to move forward with CSE at Sant Longowal because colleges in Kolkata are not very much known for their exposure and placements, so opt for Longowal for better exposure and placements.

I can't say about all other colleges but Sant Longowal is not as good as expected from a central government college. Gurukula Kangri is not a CO Educational Institute. Please check before filling your choice. SLIET is situated in Longowal, a village in Sangrur district. So please go to other colleges like JKIAPT and IIIT-Manipur because it has an IIIT tag. For my personal view, go to any other colleges but please don't come to SLIET. If there is no option and your JEE rank is not good and you hardly wish to take admission in a central government college then you may think about this college. It is not as good as expected from a central government college. If your rank is not good in MAINS like around 50k and you're heartily wish to join a central government college please fill last option of SLIET in your choice filling. There is no environment of engineering. Go for any IIIT or NIT. For chemical Engineering, it is not good option.

No, it is not good choice to join 3 year integrated Diploma from SLIET, because it will take six years to complete you B.Tech degree after 12th.3 years for yours ICD course and after that 3 year degree (Lateral Entry).If you JEE Mains rank is not good look for other private college. If you still interested in this college join this college for 4year degree course you should easily get this college if your rank is nearly around 50k.Please don't go for ICD course.
