Sarala Birla University provides lateral entry to the BTech courses that it offers. To be eligible for lateral entry to the BTech programme, candidates must have passed a Diploma in Engineering or a BSc from a UGC-recognised university, with a minimum aggregate of 50%. For candidates belonging to the SC/ST category, the minimum required aggregate is 45%. Additionally, candidates must have studied Mathematics as a compulsory subject in Class 12.

Sarala Birla University has specified the minimum eligibility requirement for candidates seeking BTech admission at the university. To be eligible for BTech (first year) admission at the university, candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Biology/Informatics Practice/Information Technology. Sarala Birla University BA (Hons) is structured in accordance with the UGC guidelines. BA (Hons) at the university is a full-time undergraduate programme of three years. The course duration is divided into six semesters. In each semester, students have to study core and elective subjects related to their chosen specialisation. The curriculum is based on Choice Based Credit System (CBCS).
