VELS Institute of Science, Technology, and Advanced Studies (VISTAS) has its School of Ocean Engineering classified as Tier 2. This keeps in view the reality that, as compared to the broader Indian higher education, it is so rated for providing specialized programs in ocean engineering but not to the prestige tagged to Tier 1 institutions. VELS University has really scaled up through quality education in various undergraduate and postgraduate programs tagged to industrial needs.
