According to the mechanical properties of fluids class 11, the liquid's ability to flow in narrow spaces in opposition to external forces like gravity, without assistance is called the capillarity or capillary action.
When the liquid rises or falls in a narrow tube (capillary tube), it is called capillarity. It results from the adhesive forces between the walls of the tube and the liquid and the cohesive forces within the liquid. The liquid rises in a tube and forms a concave meniscus when the cohesive forces are weaker than the adhesive forces. The liquid will be depressed in the tube, if the cohesive forces are stronger than the adhes

In terms of mechanical properties of fluids, pressure is the force applied per unit area of the liquids. The pressure in a fluid is given mathematically by P = F/A
Here P is pressure, A is the area, and F is the perpendicular force.
In fluids, at a given depth, pressure acts equally in all directions. The pressure of the fluid increases with depth as the weight of the fluid above also increases. In a fluid of density? under gravity g at a depth h is given by P = h? g. The pressure of the fluid is expressed in pascals (Pa) in SI units and it is measured using pressure gauges or devices like manometers.

The Conic Sections chapter is highly important for entrance exams like JEE, CUET, and NDA. Conic Section covers fundamental concepts such as parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola, along with key terms like focus, directrix, and eccentricity. Generally directly and some times application based questions are asked in JEE Main, and CUET UG.
Students must know that conic sections also form the base for advanced topics like calculus and coordinate geometry, mastering the concepts related to Circle, Parabola, Hyperbola and others are essential for both board exams and competitive success.
