Actually, there is no such sole course available.
In SXCKOL, you can pursue B.Sc in Mass Communication & Videography which will have Journalism as ancillary subject along with Film Studies. And also if you get admission in any other BA course in SXCKOL; which are Honours in English, Political Science, Sociology & Bengali, then you'll be able to get Journalism as one of your ancillary subject.
All the best.

Firstly SXCKOL is an autonomous college registered under CU and it's not a university.
Yes, you can get admission form of both SXCKOL and St. Xavier's University, Kolkata. Here I guess you are asking for form of SXCKOL. Go to the link
http://www.sxccal.edu/admissions/SXCAdmission2017/UG2017/default.htm you'll get the form very soon.
Your interest matches with mine. Subhamay, unfortunately, SXCKOL doesn't have any such course and you can hardly find any college or university which offers a course on sports journalism in all over India. I think there is an institute in Pune which has the course and Sheffield Hallam University

Sorry for being so late, somehow I missed your question.
Anyway, my take on MCV of my college is okay. I personally wanted to study journalism, the core journalism & mass communication, but when I heard about SXCKOL's MCV being the best mass communication & journalism course then I decided to take admission without wasting any time as I already found my name on the merit list. At that time, I wasn't aware of the subjects which are taught in details. My mindset was pretty journalism oriented.
After few weeks or rather 1 or 2 months, I realized that it's more film oriented than journalism. Film would be an imperfect word, mas

Belonging to a middle-class family is not an issue at all. If your ambition is upper-class then nothing can stop you to achieve it.
There is a provision of getting a scholarship. Actually, there are many scholarships for particular subjects but nothing is there for mass communication and videography. But St. Xavier's College has always endeavored to make its educational services available to the financially less stronger students by providing generous concessions. Students in need of concession should meet the vice-principal. So if you manage to get the opportunity to get admission then you can go to the VP of Arts & Science. H

Preparation for the test is not necessary if you do certain things regularly like reading newspaper or going through news in paper, TV, internet, etc. Watching films like Indian, Foreign, etc. and having a writing habit writing in the sense kind of creative writing. If you are not habituated with this things then start. Basically, half of the question paper has GK & current affairs, objective questions on films & entertainment. The other half has creative writing, topics or situations are given one has to write on those.
I guess you got a clear picture of the preparation. If not, then please go through news; all kinds of news,

St.Xavier's College (Calcutta) is owned and managed by the Jesuits of the Calcutta province of the Society of Jesus.
So, basically this is a private college.
SXCCAL is also an autonomous college affiliated under Calcutta University. But from 2017 onward it will be a university.
