After you qualify the KTET exam, you are awarded the eligibility Certificate. KTET does not guarantee any job after the candidate qualifies the exam. Though, the candidates will become eligible for the recruitment exam after qualifying for the KTET exam. The recruitment exam for recruiting teachers in the school of Kerala. The candidates can apply for the different vacancies according to their eligibility. The Kerala Government releases the vacancies for the teachers according to the need of the state.

The minimum qualifying marks for the KTET exam are as follows:
- For General and OBC candidates: 60 per cent marks (90 marks out of 150)
- For SC/ST candidates: 55 per cent marks (82 marks out of 150)
Candidates who score equal to or more than the minimum qualifying marks are considered to have qualified the KTET exam. It is important to note that the qualifying marks are the minimum marks required to pass the exam and do not guarantee selection for a teaching job. The KTET certificate is now valid forever. Ramesh Pokhariyal, Indian Education Minister has announced that the validity of the TET certificate is extended for a lifetime. Earlier the validity of the certificates was 5 years. Candidates qualifying for the KTET exam will be the first batch of candidates with a lifetime KTET certificate. They can apply for teacher recruitment in Kerala schools at any point in time till they fulfil the eligibility criteria fixed by the respective recruiting agency.
