Not really! The course is designed to be simple, practical and skill-oriented. If you attend classes regularly and complete assignments on time, it's very manageable. You can expect to study subjects like:

  • Teaching strategies
  • Communication skills
  • Child development
  • Basic math, language, and EVS pedagogy
  • Community outreach

Plus a lot of hands-on activities like making charts, posters or TLMs will make learning fun.

Yes, you can definitely do D.Ed. after graduation but it's not common. D.Ed. is a diploma-level course which is meant for students after 10+2.

If you're already a graduate and want to become a teacher, it's usually better to go for a B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education), which is the next step in teacher training and opens up more job roles and higher salaries. In my opinion doing B.Ed is better that pursuing a D.Ed Course if you are already a graduate.

Yes, to get a government school teacher job, you'll need to qualify TET which is also known as Teacher Eligibility Test like:

CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) for CBSE & Central Govt. schools

State TETs like UPTET, HTET, MAHA TET, etc. for state government schools

Clearing D.Ed. + TET = your path to a secure government teaching job.

Yes, Virohan: Rustomjee, Thane does offer scholarships to students officially pursuing a BVoc course from the institute. The distribution of these scholarships is done via an in-house scholarship test, i.e., VSAT. Students who wish to avail scholarship must appear for the test. Moreover, the scholarship amount depends on the scores obtained by the students in the VSAT exam.
