Hi Pankaj,
Despite periodic fluctuations, the travel industry presents a relatively stable business opportunity for the right entrepreneurs. Faced with variable energy costs and other pressures, airlines routinely change their pricing structures and fee rates, creating the possibility for agents to act as intermediaries between passengers and airlines.

Hi Swami,
There is no significant difference in the basic term of ticketing or reservations. As they both imply that a place is booked for a passenger in a mode of travel by an agent(i.e. ticketing or reservation agent).
However in various organizations the two could involve different responsibilities such as:
-A ticketing agent would only;y be responsible for booking a mode of travel from one point to the other mostly an air ticket where as a reservation agent maybe responsible for making all additional reservation such as hotels, pickups, sight seeing etc in case of tour packages.
Hope this information helps. Please feel free to revert. C

Hi Payal,
A computer reservations system or central reservation system is a computerized system used to store and retrieve information and conduct transactions related to air travel, hotels, car rental, or activities. Airlines have divested most of their direct holdings to dedicated GDS companies, who make their systems accessible to consumers through Internet gateways.
Amadeus is of of the most common system used for ticket reservation across the globe, in more than 150 airlines.Hence definitely the knowledge would prove to be a huge factor for selection.
Please refer to the link for institution providing training in Amadeus:
