Q:   How are placements for Master of Computer Applications (MCA) at Utkal University college?

A:
{Source: MCA students & alumni}

Based on the reviews provided, the placements of Utkal University's Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme appear to be mixed. While some reviews suggest that the placements are good, with many students getting placed in reputed organizations and receiving high salary packages, others indicate that the placement opportunities are limited and the salaries offered are relatively low.

According to Review 1, almost 90% of students got placed in the course, with the average salary package ranging from 4 to 6 LPA. Review 3 corroborates this, stating that campus placements are good and many IT companies visit the campus to hire students, offering salary packages ranging from 7 to 4 LPA. However, Review 4 paints a different picture, stating that there are limited placement opportunities and the packages offered are from 2.4 to 3.6 LPA, with only 30% of students being placed.

It appears that the placement ratio and salary packages offered vary depending on the student's performance and the company visiting the campus. According to Review 5, the highest salary offered is 1 lac per month, the average salary offered is Rs. 50,000-60,000 per month and the lowest salary offered is Rs. 20,000 per month. Additionally, almost 45% of the students received an internship.

In summary, the placements of Utkal University's MCA programme seem to be inconsistent, with some students getting placed in reputed organizations with high salary packages, while others have limited placement opportunities and lower salaries. It is important for students to note that their performance and the companies visiting the campus can affect their placement outcomes.

Best college for judiciary and government exam preparation.
Placements: The college is more of a judiciary-centric college with less focus and emphasis on jobs and placements. If a student aspires for judicial services and other government exams, then this college is for him. Though placements are not good, out-of-campus placements are easily available to students of this college.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is provided in every building of the college. Since the college is located in the centre of the city, it has less campus space. There are mostly 4 buildings: administrative block, academic block, moot court hall and auditorium, and a library. There is a girls hostel in the college premises as well, with all the basic facilities available.
Faculty: The teachers of the college are very helpful and genuine. They guide students even outside the college. They are very knowledgeable, as the selection criteria for being appointed as a teacher is to at least qualify UGC NET Main exams. The exams are divided into semesters, and there are 10 semesters in total. Every semester is conducted within the six months after the start of the academic year.

My college is the best college .
Placements: There is no campus placement provided by our college; we have to find our job to work. There is no placement facility for students from my college for the course of B.Com. There is no value in the market for this course, so there is no placement provided to us.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided to us are good; we can say that the canteen is good, and the library is also good for students, and for studying, there is a good environment for studying. At the library, we can issue any book by simply registering with the library professor, and then they provide it to us.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable; they are of helping nature; they solve our doubts in the classroom and outside the classroom; they are ready to help us; they are very humble. The semester exams are not that hard; there are 2 exams taken in one semester.
Other: I want to do some professional courses but with some extra degree, so I chose B.Com. This is the easiest or most basic course for all.

BJB College - The best non technical college in Odisha.
Placements: No student joins this college for placements. The college does not assist you with placements. There are no facilities regarding Placements. The college does not have a placement cell. Most of the students are either CA aspirants or Government Job Aspirants.
Infrastructure: Hostels are available but are not preferred due to the living conditions. The hostels are in shambles. Unless and until you have a small monthly budget, do not opt for hostels. You can easily get accommodation facility near the college. There are many PGs for boys and girls available in BJB Nagar.
Faculty: The teachers were good. They are eager to share their knowledge if you are willing to learn. They are very cooperative. The college is not strict regarding attendance which is beneficial for Students preparing for any Entrance. The course curriculum is according to the Curriculum designed by Utkal University. It is upto date and constantly gets updated. The semester exams are strictly monitored. The pass percentage is around 80%.

College is good for a B.Tech. degree with good placements.
Placements: In Cipet ipt Bhubaneswar, 100% placement is there, with an average package of 3 lacs to the highest package of 10.34 lacs. So many companies are recruiting from my course like Haldia petrochemical, Isvita robotics, V form, Maruti, Volvo, Jindal, etc. The roles offered by the company are production in charge, quality executive, etc.
Infrastructure: All facilities are there but in the summer season, students feel too hot because of the electricity problem. There is no AC in any class; hostel facilities are also there, but the food quality is too bad. There is also an ambulance to take students to the hospital in an emergency.
Faculty: Yes, the faculty are knowledgeable and helpful. All teachers are well qualified for their master's degrees. The pass percentage for students is 44%; those students who study diligently will definitely get a job with a good package and also get a good percentage as a result.
Other: This course will prepare you to apply for jobs with any company. This field of engineering is used in every industry .

Dissatisfied with lab facilities and the faculty.
Placements: No one was placed. There were no placement opportunities at all. There are no internship opportunities either. Even if companies like Cognizant came, we were not informed about it properly. The academics were not good for our course. No training or information was provided for future chances.
Infrastructure: There are no facilities related to labs, library or Wi-Fi. I was a day scholar so I don't know about the hostel situation. But being a lab-based subject, there were not many lab facilities. The canteen food was fine. Most of the people from other departments were not aware of the sports being conducted.
Faculty: The teachers were quite good. But none of them were professors. Teaching was dictating the notes out and nothing else. Exams were conducted on time. The course was very relevant to the entrance exams. None of the teaching made students industry-ready because there was no practical knowledge given.
