Student completed Bachelor degree or is in last year of Bachelor degree can appear for TISSNET. Moreover, the background of the student doesn't matter.
TISSNET eligibility requires candidates to meet the below mentioned criteria:
1. A Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration or equivalent from a recognized authority in any discipline.2. Candidates in their final year of graduation degree are eligible to apply for TISSNET.3. In TISS, counselling programme comes under the school of ecology. It has eligibility criteria that is completion of Master in Psychology or Master in education from recognized University with a minimum of three years of experience as a counsellor and with some background of working with children.

If you are from any category like OBC, ST, SC then you can give the exam but if you are from general category, you are not eligible. If you come to TISS then you can get a seat for placement.

To give Tissnet exam, there is few criteria like you should have passed bachelor degree or you are in final year and you also have completed your degree by attending class.

After clearing cut-off of MHA and MPH, students are called TATA INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL SCIENCES for two more test.
1.Written Ability Test (WAT)- In this student is asked to write two essay out of three. These essay are related to healthcare and hospital and time allotted for both essay is 45 minutes.
2. Personnel Interview(PI)- It is taken by faculty of Health School of TISS. Question were asked like- healthcare of India, why you want to do this course, which type of disease is prevalent in your area, and some case problem.
Placement of both courses is good.
