TISS Mumbai Courses 

TISS Mumbai offers MA course of two years duration in 80 domains comprising subjects from all the schools/departments. The PhD is provided in eight domains like Applied Psychology, Development Studies, Disaster Studies, Management and Labour Studies, Public Health, Social Work, Education, Habitat Studies and Social Sciences.

Preference will be given to candidates with one- or two-years' work experience. The diploma holders are required to qualify age eligibility. Different diplomas have different criteria to pass and the duration of each diploma ranges from 6 months to one year.

TISS Mumbai Admissions 

TISS Mumbai majorly offers postgraduate programmes like MA, MSc, and LLM. Students need to qualify TISSNET exam apart from securing 55% in graduate. After qualifying TISS NET, students need to pass through TISS PAT and Online Personal Interview. The application process is made online and fee can be paid through Debit card/Net Banking/Demand Draft mode.

PG Courses

  • Admission to all the PG courses is based on valid score in TISSNET exam, conducted by the institute. This is followed by TISS Programme Aptitude Test (TISS PAT) and TISS Online Personal Interview (TISS OPI)

PhD Courses

  • For admission to PhD courses, applicants need to appear for Research Aptitude Test (RAT) conducted by TISS Mumbai

TISS Mumbai Placements 

The top industry giants like Dell, Amazon, Flipkart, HDFC Bank, Hero Motorcorp, Deloitte, etc., visited the placement session of passing out batch 2020. The highest package offered was Rs 32.79 LPA while the average salary was Rs 21.75 LPA. These numbers were approx. 10% higher than salary offered to pass out batch of 2019. Given below is the graphical data of salary offered in year 2019 and 2020. 

Apart from annual placements, the TISS Mumbai Summer Placements or Internships 2020 also saw a 100% record in TISS Mumbai. The highest stipend offered was Rs 1.6 lakh per month while the average stipend was Rs 1.03 lakh per month. There were 20 PPO’s offered out of which 15 were lateral PPOs. FMCG sector was the highest recruiting sector.

TISS Mumbai offers wide range of facilities for the overall development of students. Besides studies, focus is also given on other areas like sports, gymkhana, artistic development etc. Bulleted below are the infrastructural facilities of TISS Mumbai. 

  • Library: TISS Mumbai has a vast collection of books comprising academic, reference, text and other related books in its library called Sir Dorabji Tata Memorial Library. There are 1,23,000 books in principal domain of social sciences and 10,298 journals. More than 2500 books are added to the collection every year.  
  • Hostels: TISS hostel accommodate 500 students. The admission to hostel seat depends on availability of seats for which fees is paid at the time of admission.  
  • Gymkhana: The Gymkhana of TISS Mumbai is a spacious room that encloses indoor and outdoor sports facilities for students. It consists of yoga studio and dance studio which can accommodate 100 students at the same time.  
  • Counseling Center: The Counselling services at TISS Mumbai are for students who need counselling services regarding career and personal lives. The counselling centre ensures to boost up the morale of the students and fill them with leadership qualities.

The course curriculum has been designed in a very thoughtful way.

Placements: The course does not offer any kind of placement support because social entrepreneurship is all about starting your venture but yes you can work in the same ecosystem and you will get paid well. For the placements, you will have to rely on the central placement committee and your personal network. The average package is around 7-8 lac.

TISS has a supreme environment for studying social and behavioural sciences.

Placements: Placements provided by the college were very good. Students are developed to face any drive according to their specialisation. In our batch, almost everyone got placed. Top recruiting companies were P&G, Helping Hands, and many NGOs. Major roles offered were as a team leader and area manager. The highest salary package offered was 8 LPA.

Placements: I am from the batch of 2015-17. Almost 100% of students in our course got placed. The median salary package offered was 15 LPA. All top FMCG companies were the top recruiting companies. Top roles offered is HR generalist. About 100% of the students got an internship, in all major corporates in the country. The placement number has only gone upward, and the course has been ranked as the best by several ranking. This year the median salary package offered is 20 LPA.

Placements: There is various opportunities that students get to work in terms of fieldworks wherein every semester students are asked to go to one organisation. There is summer internship opportunity with good stipends. 100% placement and very good roles are offered.

For MBA you have to appear for TISSMAT. The exam is conducted by TISS Mumbai. One of the best college for ROI. For courses like M.A. In development one has to appear for TISSNET. Best wishes.

TISS BAT is an entrance exam conducted by the Tata Institute of Social Science for admission into undergraduate programs at the 3 TISS campuses: TISS Tuljapur Campus, TISS Tuljapur Campus and TISS Guwahati Campus. No. There is no negative marking in TISS BAT.

TISMAT is for management courses in TISS like HRM, natural resource Management, governance whereas TISSNET is for social Science courses. The TISMAT will test the aspirant on basis of business awareness.

It is really a good course comparatively to other universities which is offering hospital administration. Here, you get direct experiences from both government and private hospitals which brings you good placement too in the end. its a good option here.

Its a nice course with a unique course structure. It has students from different educational backgrounds like MBSS. BDS, B.Tech. Physiotherapists, BAMS, etc. Admission is quite competitive. Placements are quite nice and the course is getting more traction in the industry year after year. So, over...Its a nice course with a unique course structure.
