On Highlights
Q: Β  Can I get direct admission to TISS?
A:

TISS does not provide direct admission. All applicants must satisfy the eligibility requirements and engage fully in the authorised admissions procedure. TISS usually conducts its own exam for admission,i.e., TISSNET. However, TISSNET has been canceled for 2024. The institute will now accept CUET entrance exam for admission. A critical step in the selection process for these programmes is the Personal Interview (PI) round. During the PI, candidates' motivation, aptitude, and potential for the programme they have applied to are often evaluated through a series of questions.

Q: Β  How can I get admission to TISS Mumbai MBA?
A:

Although TISS Mumbai does not provide an MBA course, it does give an alternate programme called the Executive Post Graduate Diploma (EPGD), which is comparable in concept and structure to the MBA programme.

  1. Clear the Central University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) : Candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in the National Entrance Test (CUET PG 2024), which evaluates aptitude in areas such as general knowledge, analytical reasoning, logical reasoning, and English proficiency.

  2. Online Personal Interview (OPI): Shortlisted candidates proceed to the second stage, involving an online personal interview (OPI). The OPI assesses the candidate's suitability for the MBA programme and their motivation to pursue it.

  3. Successfully complete both stages: By successfully completing both the CUET PG and the OPI, candidates can secure admission into TISS Mumbai's MBA programme.

  4. Note the importance of eligibility criteria and CUET PG score: Meeting the eligibility requirements and obtaining a good score in TISSNET MBA 2023 significantly enhance the chances of being shortlisted for the interview stage.

Q: Β  How can I get admission to the MA programme at TISS?

Review of Post Graduate Diploma in HR and Administration course at Tata Institute of Social Sciences
Placements: Basically, students got hired in various positions of HR consulting firms in companies like Aon Hewitt, Mercer, Accenture, with the best pay of 1.960,000, which made most of the students wonder about it. We are not worried about reaching out to companies by ourselves because all top companies participate in recruitment.
Faculty: Teachers are supportive from the admission process to course completion. They give more importance to the low-grade students, and they give advice to them often. Usually, they handle practical classes rather than explaining the theoretical concepts. Teachers are offered good pay.
Other: Cultural events are not conducted often. Special occasions are celebrated only when the students requested to conduct. Wearing formal dress, with the necessary uniform like coats is mandatory. The college offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Review of Post Graduate Diploma in HR and Administration at Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
Placements: College is best in class for providing placement support and guidance. There is a separate isolated cell for placements. In such cell offices would discuss the companies and their drawbacks also the required improvisation techniques in placement training and make it to action if required. The highest package is 35.5 LPA.
Faculty: Tata Institute of Social Sciences is a multi-campus university that should be even ranked by NIRF and enroll in various specialisations. Highly graduated and highly qualified professional teachers are appointed. They are eligible for overrated pay too. Special coaching is arranged for those students who require it. It offers various courses with higher levels of excellence coaching, placement recruitment, etc.
Other: Possibly, 5 to 6 events are conducted on the college campus to publish their college and grow their college networking to higher levels.

Overall Disappoint?
Placements: At Bharat Calling TISS University, student placement rates are only 40%. This is largely due to the mismanagement by the Bharat Calling founder. The average monthly salary for placed students ranges from 3,000 to 25,000, depending on their skills. Most job opportunities come from local entrepreneurs or shop owners who hire students. The internship program is managed by the hub, providing valuable opportunities for students. Roles available include positions in the manufacturing department of agricultural products and fabrication units.
Infrastructure: The hub is well-designed and located outside the city, offering facilities such as hostels, a library, and classrooms. However, it lacks additional amenities like a canteen, medical facilities, and sports or recreation areas. Students are responsible for seeking out these services, such as medical care and food.
Faculty: The faculty consists of knowledgeable teachers and mentors, making this course a good fit for those interested in agriculture. The syllabus includes practical work, which is a significant advantage. Semester exams are of moderate difficulty; students who attend classes regularly can easily pass with a minimum percentage of 50%.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to explore opportunities in the agriculture field. However, I realize this field may not be the right fit for me. This course is best for students who may find it challenging to gain admission to a B.Sc. in Agriculture program, which is often more theory-based and demanding. In contrast, this B.Voc course focuses on practical applications with a more manageable theoretical component.

The recruitment rate of my college is around 80%-90%.
Placements: The recruitment rate of my college is around 80-90%. Top companies visit our college for the placement of students, such as Infosys, HDFC, Wipro, L&T, Tech Mahindra, JP Morgan, etc. These are the companies that come for placements. The average salary that students get is 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is vast, with a nature-friendly environment. The classrooms are quite good, and the library is well-maintained with a great atmosphere. The college does not provide Wi-Fi. The food in the canteen is quite good.
Faculty: The college has a host of qualified, experienced, and dedicated teachers to guide the students at the undergraduate as well as postgraduate levels. The college has a strong faculty of eminent and versatile teachers, with over 50% possessing a Doctorate degree and about 10% involved in offering consultancy services.
Other: They set goals for the course and provide clear and detailed instructions. They make sure that students' learning objectives are front and center. They create or update assessment that measures the course learning objective. They engage the students with active learning.
