UGC NET

CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY-
I) Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Masters Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. Are eligible for this Test. The Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer / Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Persons with disability (PWD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Masters degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.
ii) Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing at the qualifying Masters degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of JRF/Assistant Professor eligibility only after they have passed their Masters degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of OBC (Non-creamy layer)/ SC/ ST/ PWD (Persons with disability) category candidates). Such candidates must complete their P. G. degree examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.

UGC NET Syllabus & Exam Pattern
The 1st step towards adequate examination preparation is also being well versed with a UGC NET exam syllabus & pattern. This UGC Examination comprises two papers 1 & 2. Aspirants also have to appear for both forms in a single duration of 3 hours. Paper one contains questions that test the research aptitude & teaching of candidates. Particular examination papers will also be completed in 2 sessions, paper one & paper two. Paper one will also be conducted in session 1st & paper two in session second. Question paper will also contain the objective type of questions having four options with a correct answer. Questions in paper one will be from research/ teaching aptitude. Questions in paper two will also be based on the subject selected by the aspirant. The specific time duration for paper one will be one hour & for paper two, this will be two hours. There also will be fifty questions on paper one a hundred questions on paper two. Every question will be mandatory to attempt.
