A college primarily focuses on undergraduate degrees in specific fields or liberal arts. It can be independent or part of a university. A university, on the other hand, is a larger, more comprehensive institution offering both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees across a wider range of subjects. It often includes multiple colleges and emphasizes research.

An institute can be a research organization, a specialised educational institution (often technical or vocational and may not grant degrees), or a part of a university focused on advanced research in a specific area.
